I've got a '75 115hp Johnson that's developed an irritating problem. When I push the lock out button on the throttle control to throttle up to help start the engine, nothing happens at all--no ignition, etc. When I put the control back in neutral, the engine fires. It's always been hard to start and needs the extra fuel to get going. I've taken the face plates off the control arm (where it goes into the side of the boat) and can see a large white ring. I don't know how to get past that. One guy told me he had the same problem and it was an easy fix as there is a lever with a wheel that had gotten bent so it wasn't rolling and wasn't making contact. Can someone tell me how to get inside there to see if that is my problem? Or, does anyone have any suggstions as to what the problem might be? thanks for the help--this site has helped me keep that engine running for the 3 years I've had it. bt
