1975 Johnson 50HP pull start

Hi there guys,
I'm about to drop my old boat in the water, and i would like to have a pull start "emergency" cord ready just in case. What length should the cord be, as i have nothing to go from? Hopefully i won't have to use it, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.

one wrap around fly wheel, and enough to get your hands away. more wraps, possiblity of it getting caught on bare flywheel.
