Hello everyone,

I need help identifying an electric component on my 1975 Mercury 650 65HP. The serial number of the motor is 4137530. There are two wires going into the piece and it is sealed. One wire connects to the switch box (post labeled white). The other wire is grounded on the starter mounting bracket. I have attached pictures of the piece to this post.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays.

Trim limit switch, it cuts out the one button trim operation forcing you to use two 'up' buttons to tilt further.

The trim limit switch is on the clamp/swivel bracket.

This is the mercury switch to kill the motor if tilted out of the water so the Cuisinart blades don't chop toes off. Many motors don't have one and you can disconnect it.

Are you sure GA?
I don't remember a trim limit switch on the clamp/swivel bracket on my old 65s but it was a long time ago.
