I've already had carbs resurfaced, changed out plugs, spark is good.... it will run fine for a few minutes then shut off. when i go to restart it, it takes a few min to restart, but eventually it does.... i would really like to get the motor to where i'm not praying that it will start when i need it to.... any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the spark when it quits? What do you mean by "had carbs resurfaced"?

When it shuts off are the spark plugs wet or dry?

@Daviet--first, how do i check spark when it quits? what i mean by saying "carbs resurfaced" they were a little warped and leaking, had the mating surface sanded/resurfaced to stop the leak.
@emd--i haven't checked if they were wet or dry... but what would each one mean??
@cdn--i normally use the choke and the warm up lever as needed at the beginning of the fishing trip. then once we get to destination, that is when i start getting the problem of the motor being hard to start.

any help is greatly appreciated!!

An inductive timing light is good to check for spark on each plugwire when either running or just cranking. The flashes from the gun will tell you a lot about the quality of the spark. Wet plugs may indicate that they are getting fuel but may not be firing. Dry plugs indicate that the engine may not be getting fuel. Two different problems.
