I have been given a 1976 glastron from a relative. I would like to use the boat until I can afford a new one. But, this boat has not been used for 5 of more years. There are two outboards, a 115hp Johnson and a 6 hp johnson. I know the boats complete hostory. It has less than 70 hours. Both motors ran great the last time they were used. Is it worth the cost/effort to rebuild them? Any advice would be appreciated

You do not necessarily need to rebuild them. I just brought back to life an engine that hasn't run in 15 years.

You will need to:

1. replace water pumps-impellers.
2. rebuild carbs.
3. rebuild fuel pumps.
4. check and replace tubing under the cowls.

If compression readings are good-they're worth saving.
