Hey all, i've been putting together the above engine for a few months, and it's been lots of little tasks. It had been sleeping for a few years before I got it so I've been following the dewinterizing instructions I found on these forums.
A few days ago I changed the coils, good spark on all cylinders.. Decided to test fire it without the carbys bolted on. Squirted some 50:1 down the intakes and it fired on the first turn of the key.
Today I put the gearbox back in, installed the carbys, (which I rebuilt about a month ago and sat them aside) installed fuel pumps with all new lines, and can't get it to even sputter.
I hope I'm overlooking something silly. It's pumping lots of fuel and spark is still there, could it be to do with the timing advance? moving the throttle advance as i turn it over causes it to turn easier or harder, depending on which way i move it.
Thanks for your help, Greg.
