1976 70HP Evinrude

I removed the carb covers and found a spring laying their. Are there any other springs other than the Spring over ride and the Throttle return spring,
That is required on the three carb set up. I Have the clymer maual but it
Does not show how the linkages is setup. Thank you for the help.

Go to the factory website and look at the parts breakdown and see if you can see it.

I have taken a look there but cannot see any other springs other than the ones i mentioned.

if you didn't already, check the intake manifold and cylinder/crankcase charts, too. And maybe even the engine cover chart.

what does it look like? I mean, a coil spring? Compression or extension? Length? Diameter? Luckily it's too heavy to get sucked up into the manifold.

There's one to keep the throttle valves shut, and one on the choke solenoid, is all I can think of. None of those would ever wind up inside the airbox.

Was it you, or somebody else who put it together last?
