1976 75hp johnson stinger needs help

I just purchased a 1976 beecraft with the original 75hp stinger. The shifting linkage is tight and wont shift smoothly. Everything is original on it and I would like to replace the entire control box with ignition. Its got toggle swith and warm up thingy. I am having trouble trying to locate the parts, any takers on this one???

What is it you are tring to do? The thinggy is a choke swich. You will want to keep that. Will the engine shift with out the control box?

I am trying to get the shifter to shift the motor into forward and reverse. It wont go into reverse. Id like to just replace everything. Unless there is a cheaper method of doing that. Needless to say everything is original and pretty much warn out. I would like to put some modern controls on the boat but afraid they wont work with this engine
