While not a full on restoration, it does need a little work. It's a '76 16' Beachcraft with a 120 HP OMC. The boat was given to me by a good friend of mine. I was told a couple of minor things and it will be on the water. 1st off the starter was junk and rusted solid. In the back of my mind I was thinking that I shouldn't even bother with a new starter and the engine is probably in the same shape. Against my better judgement I went and bought a new starter. Hooked up the battery and click, click. The starter engage the flywheel but wouldn't turn. Pulled the plugs, and yep full of water. The block is rusted pretty solid. Found another engine for cheap. My next worry was the out drive. It's got a stringer 400 electric shift (what what I can gather from this awesome forum.) But I pulled it apart and all it needs is a seal kit and I am putting a water pump kit in it. This is a work in progress and any tips/tricks ya'll might be willing to part with will help greatly.

Today I got the engine out of the boat and am getting it all cleaned up in preparation for the new engine as well as all the other new stuff that I have on the board at the moment.

The transom is super solid (to my surprise). I've pulled a bolt or two out from different mounts and it was nice and dry. It appears that the boat just sat out in the weather, and here in Oregon it rains more often than not in the winter time.
