1976 Evinrude 35 hp tell tale

Hi guys,
trying to figure out for certain whether my motor (Model # 35653G) had a tell tale factory installed?

77 was first year for tell tale.----Some late production 76 models may have it too.

'76s all burned up in this part of the country from overheating due to water intake blockage from weeds. May not be such a problem in clear water.

Should see a strong spray/flow from the exhaust port on the leg almost immediately -- actually, better tell-tale than the modern ones. The new ones tell you the pump is pushing water to the engine, but yours will tell you the water is both showing up and circulating.

That was the first year production for that motor & one year only for ignition system (on that model)! The cooling system was very suspect. From gearcase intake design (changed 3 times) to water pump styles. Unless the motor has extreme sentimental
value to you may not be a good motor to put money into? JMHO.
