I have a 76 rude 70 hp. I am installing a hydraulic tilt unit on it. All i have is the pump and bracket that fits on the motor mounting bolts. It has a 12-3 so type cord coming out of it. Is there supposed to be a reversing sylenoid setup running these wires via a 2 position momentary on the dash? What are the wires? Can someone color id them for me? Thanks.

i will take a look at my setup later today, i have the 70hp Johnson with the tilt. I just have it hooked to a toggle switch infront of my throttle control.

Did you get a chance to look at your setup? Does it have selonoids? Did i spell that right? I doubt it. Thanks

If yours is a 3 wire motor it uses one solenoid. I just hooked mine up today. What color are the wires coming off the motor? Mine were Black, Red, and Blue. Black is the ground, Red is down, and Blue is up. The up wire is the one that connects to the solenoid. The down wire does not. Here is a diagram.
