I am having a problem getting the motor in reverse (in the water). works fine out of the water. I have removed the linkage and it will go manually. I tried the cable adjust and when I get it to work in reverse(in the water) it will not work anymore in forward. It looks like the linkage is just not moving far enough for the reverse position. Any help would be most greatly appreciated. This will not stop me from fishing, I can paddle for reverse, but it would sure be nice to leave the dock in REVERSE. Thanks for any help

I had the same problem a few months ago and it was the cable adjustment. Not to say it's the same for you... but... I thought for sure it was in the lower unit. I went back again and re-adjusted... here might be something to look for. There are lock screws that hold the cable wire in the sleeve, where it attaches to the shift arm. Sometimes these come loose(as did mine). Remove the lock screw(this can be a allen head screw or a regular bolt) and look inside for the wire.
