1976 Johnson 55 HP Model 55EL76 outboard carburator issues ?

Carburator configuration. Outlet line from fule pump is running to lower carb and is kinked. I think carbs are reversed. Engine runs strong when frist started but then starts to surge like not getting enough fule. I have replaced fule pump and checked for air leaks in fule system. If I run motor at low RPM'S
for a few minutes it will run find for a short distance and start to surge again.

Please can anyone help me.

What is the size, model of your motor? Rick.

It is a 55 HP. Model 55EL76.
