Hi, as the title states, I have a 1976 Mariner 3.5 2 cycle outboard. The owner's manual says to use "high quality two-stroke engine oil". This is an air cooled engine. Should I continue to use TC-W3 oil, or would I be better off using a 2 cycle oil for air cooled engines like chainsaws and string trimmers? I have read that air cooled engines run hotter than water cooled, and the oils for air cooled engines can handle the heat better. Ant thoughts/opinions are appreciated. Thanks, Doug

I would use chainsaw/weedwhacker oil.
