1976 merc outboard with blown piston

i am getting a boat that has a 76 merc outboard motor but it has a blown piston....i am a car mechanic so i know my way around a motor, but have never worked of a boat motor. so im wondering if its worth it to fix the motor or just find a used motor that runs?

In my own opinion you could find a newer good used motor for what it would cost to fix that one.
