Just wondering, I bought a 1976 crestliner with a 140 hp mercruiser for $600. the boat itself is in great condition and the motor and lower unit seem to be a fresh rebuild. How good of a deal did I get. What kind of problems can I expect. So far had it on the water a dozen times and haven't had any problems. Thanks for any help. I'm very new to the boating world.

You could part it out and double your money. You did fine. :)

You did good. Just keep up on routine maintenance and watch fluid levels and guages. Get to know how it runs and sounds and be ready to investigate anything that seems unusual....and don't be afraid to back off the throttle a little. Save a little wear and tear...not to mention gas.
Enjoy your bargain. I've got a 69 Formula with a Merc 160 that I paid about that for originally and just love it....especially the no payments part.
One other thing....read EVERYTHING on this forum that pertains to your type of boat/drive. (and most of everything else) Even if you're not currently having any problems. I never could have done it without this place. It's amazing the things you can pick up.
