It got stuck on me when I beached the boat. After I wanted to go out on the lake, it was stuck up and out of the water! I had a guy help me out on the lake and he loosened up something and let the hydrolic lines bleed a bit. After that, it worked fine. He said to make sure I don't raise the engine that high again or it just stops working. Is this a common problem? Do I have to put "oil" or something into those Hydolic lines? Whats in there? How do I maintain this? I need any info on this please. THANKS A BUNCH!!!!!

This may or may not help, but as you know I have the same motor. On mine, you can turn the release valve on the power trim motor clockwise to disengage, then manually lift. I have only had my boat on the water twice so far but carry a small screwdriver and small squirt nozzel bottle filled with the motor fluid so I can add some to the refill hole if it is low, leaks out, etc.

If your power trim motor needs "O" rings, it's an easy $7 repair. Took me about 10 minutes to remove, 10 minutes to replace "O" rings, and 10 minutes to re-install. (I'm not a mechanic)

Hi,

I've got the same problem and it's due to a leaky seal. My boat mechanic says that Yamaha are only selling the assembly as a kit so if you want the seals you need to by much more about $600 more :-(.

Where did you get your seals or O-rings if you prefer.
