Hi I just was given what I believe is a 1976 7.5HP Mercury outboard by my friend/ neighbors wife after he passed away. I would love to get it running and put it on a small rib for crabbing. It obviously has sentimental value.
I tried the pull cord with the plugs out and the motor seems free. I plan to do a compression test tomorrow. I ordered the SELCO book. How do I connect a fuel tank to this motor? Anything I should look for? Should I assume total rebuild?
Anyone have a link to similar rebuild I can follow?
