Howard Sterndrive, I just finished repairing the hull, floor, front and rear motor mounts, and transom on my 1977 Seaswirl with a 140hp OMC. I could not believe how everything was built originally.... It IS much better now. I took photos and measurements for everything before I started and am now ready to re-install my motor. Originally there were two plywood shims under the rear motor mounts. One about 3/8" and one about 1/4" and I don't know which side was which. Having spoken to a local boat repair shop, he advised me that there is a correct measurement to have the motor set into the boat. I did not know about this and even couldn't have gotten it before I started the rebuild as the motor mount area was crushed from rot and the weight of the motor. I have seen the diagram you have posted for a V-6, do you also have the specs for the 140hp 4 cyl ? Any info you may be able to share is greatly appreciated !
Thank you,
John
