I have a 70HP 1977 Johnson.
I recently cleaned out the carbs and de-carbed the engine. Took her out and did a couple of runs with no problem. Suddenly between moving from spot to spot the engine dies. Turns on no problem. I set it in gear and give it a little gas and then push it to WOT then dies.
I found that if I lift the warm up lever and let the engine rev up in neutral, then hit it, it would respond most of the time. When trying to plane out with a 180lb person on a skirf board it simply dies. Before it would lift 'em up just fine.
Any ideas I could try?
