I have a 1977 85 horse evinrude out board and was curious what would be the proper oil/fuel ratio. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

That would be 50/1..... 1 pint of 50/1 TCW-III oil to 6 gallons of gasoline. A fuel octane rating of 87 will be fine.

50:1 with evinrude/johnson oil. I use 93 octane, the '77 owners manual recommends MINIMUM 89 octane.

Not sure why you're running 93 octane. Today's methods of boosting octane with MBTE or alchohol are harder on an outboard than any benefits from the extra octane. Save some $$ and get the cheap stuff. Your motor and pocket book will be much happier.
