My husband and I purchased this boat in August of this year. It is in very good shape considering it is 36 years old. However, a previous owner redid the seating in the back of the boat - and it is nothing like the original. I am wanting to redo it as original as possible. Also, the captains chairs and seating in the nose needs to be redone because of cracking.

My questions are these:
1. Anyone have bench seating measurements for this boat? (yes I have already downloaded the owners manual and there are none).

2. Where is the best and cheapest place to order marine vinyl and what type of thread do you use when sewing the seats/cushions?

3. Do you have to use marine grade foam? I've heard some say no - they just use a plastic wrap over it before they put the vinyl on.

4. Where is a good and cheap place to buy the foam - marine or other?

5. Carpet - I figure if I'm redoing the seats I might as well do the carpet too. Where can I find this and what type of "glue" do you use?

Last question for now -
6. Where can I find a few random pieces of teak?

Thank you in advance for helping this boat ignorant newby - it is greatly appreciated!!!

with boat vinyl cheap isnt always good, use a 92 poly thread. goretex is better but you need a big machine. post photos maybe you can figure out the original layout. foam is foam. if its not falling apart you can steam the foam. take a ton of measurements and photos. marine carpet is available at a upholstery supply. i dont know where you live but try to find a real supplier. not joannes fabrics. carpet costs alot to ship its oversized and heavy. i use contact cement sprayed down. go to enduratex and see where the closest dealer is or mellohide or bolta soft. i know the west coast and can find out in the gulf region if you need help finding material
