Would welcome 'mostly likely' suggestions.
I have a firespitting 1977 Rude 140 on the old 19 foot Renken I inherited from my granddad (and used to fish with him on as a kid). The motor has been ridiculously reliable and fast as a scalded dog through the years but just lately quit firing on the two cylinders on the starboard side (1 and 3?). The port bank of cylinders has a nice, mean, big blue spark. I tried a replacement coil on the number one cylinder to no avail. Checked the plugs on the non-fire cylinders - new and fine. Unscrewed the cover of the power pack - no corrosion on any connections I can see. Have not checked current going to the coils yet - and reckon that's the next step - just wondered if any Rude guru might give me an obvious to look at or an easy way to test, say, the impulse from the stator to power pack to the coil and/or what voltages I should be looking for. On the upside, I went ahead and checked the compression - 120 on each cylinder. Hot damn.
Thanks for any help.
