1977 Evinrude 85 Hp Won't start

I just bought a 78 Cobia 16 Ft Bowrider with a 1977 Evinrude 85 Hp V4. I has been running with very little work for a couple of months now, but just stopped on the lake 2 weeks ago. I have been running a 50 to 1 ratio and probably an ounce extra to be safe. I checked the connections and the starter it is getting volts up to the terminal strip. Could my problem possibly be with the Power Pak? I put the testmeter on the coil leads and no juice. I pulled the spark plug and no fire. Any suggestions?

Paul,<br /><br />Look for fuse near the starter. It may be in a holder that looks like a wiring connector.

Checked all the fuses they are old but good, I am going to try some new plugs before I try a new power pak.

Can anyone tell me what the relay is that connects between the Terminal strip Red Positive wire and the 2 yellow wires that lead to the stator. I have a frayed positive(red) wire leading into the relay. I placed the test meter at the entry point and there is power going into the relay, but no power out of the relay. The wires coming out of the relay switch from Red to Yellow and lead back to the terminal strip and back to the stator.<br /><br />Thanks

Well I replaced the rectifier which was bad, but still no fire in the plugs. Any suggestions for checking farther up the line. Stator or Coil info?<br /><br />Thanks for the replies.<br /><br />
