Installed new tilt and trim motor and can't seem to get the trim unit to go down. Seems to be building pressure or something. If I losses the release valve it will lower fine. Tighten it back up and it goes up great. As soon as I start going down again it looks like it tries but won't unless I open the release valve again. I've skipped all the relays and junk and have the three wire a going from the trim motor to the battery. Ground and up or down. Any help would he great! Thanks guys

In your explanation, you state: "I've skipped all the relays and junk and have the three wire a going from the trim motor to the battery. Ground and up or down."

What exactly does that mean? What does the PTT electric motor do when you throw 12v to the up wire, then the down wire?

The trim motor has 3 wires. One is a ground the others are up when touched to positive and down when touched to positive. Goes up just fine but when I try to go down it will start moving down about a half inch or so and then slows way down and then stops going down all together

And when it just stops going down altogether... does the electric motor continue to run... OR... has it stopped also?
