hey i have a 1977 johnson 25 and up untill just recently it ran and started fine.. now i feel like the solenoid is going bad.. ive done some testing as described by the mechanic.. i get the click click when i turn the key but when i directly bipass the solenoid it fires rite up.. now another thing.. i ran it up the lake the other day and then back and it ran fine both times.. iturned it off and did some electric trolling then when i fired it up next it will no longer go passed like half throttle before some vibration in the motor takes over and boggs the motor down.. even at full throttle its only running at about half rpms with a weird vibration.. please help!!!!

Viberation = Broken propeller blade, something attached to propeller blade, engine running on one cylinder. Check compression, then spark.

Solenoid problem.... remove and clean all wire and cable terminals associated with the electric starting system including the battery terminals. Also clean the components that the wires/cables attach to, then tighten all connections using a wrench or pliers..... do not use fingers if tightening wing nuts.
Loose or tight but dirty connects result in a voltage drop.
