1977 Merc 500 Carb Issue

The engine will run for a few minutes and die. Pump the bulb again and it works for a few mins and dies. Thinking I had a fuel problem I went to shore and took a look at the carbs. The bottom carb would leak gas out the side of the carb. The leak is coming from this small blue plastic pan shaped fitting that the gas line connects. It leaks out whenI pump the bulb to prime it.

I took off the starter so I could get a better look at the issue. I removed the blue plastic pan shaped part that the fuel line connects to.. There was a cork gasket. The gasket looked fine so I put it back in and tightened it up. Then I hooked up the gas and it still leaks.

Is there a gasket kit for this? Is this a common issue on these old mercs.

Thanks!

I fixed it. Took the carb off and tightened it up. that seemed to fix it.
