i have a 1977 mercury 1500. i took it out and drove it for about 10 mins and it ran like a top then it just killed and wouldnt restart for anything..... the fuel filter was milky white and the bottom carb was dripping this milky white stuff into the cowling.... havent tried anything with the motor fuel pump or carbs because im a noob any suggestions what the problem might be or how to get her running again???? fuel was old.... shuda drained it but thought sea foam would take care of it.... oops:eek:... if id did suck water through the fuel into the engine would that make it die and then not start again:confused:??? if so then what do you suggest i do to fix the problem.... is it really simple or should i just take it to the shop and have them take a look at it.... i just got married and bought a house so i kinda cringe at the $80 per hour to work on it and if its something i can do myself then i would love to save the $$$$$$$$
someone please help me.......

Your problem problem are water in the fuel....from a leak or from the fuel itself ( E10 ?? )

Drain the engines fuel system ( hoses/pump/carbs, fill up with NEW FRESH fuel ( with 2% TCW-3 approved 2-stoke oil ), flush some of the new fuel tru the system....start the engine .

If you have a built in tank you could try a 6 gallon removable tank...
