My boat over heated and died and had to be towed in. I think the water impeller pump went out after reading other posts. I removed the intake screen and found 2 black rubber pieces laying on the screen. My question is should I get the entire pump assyembly, just the impeller, or impeller service kit without the housing? I found multiple part numbers not sure which one is the right one or if all will work.

Water Pump Service Kit, OMC Stringer Without Housing
Code: GLM12191
Weight: 1
Price: $35.95

Water Pump Service Kit, OMC Stringer, No Housing
Code: BPI12191
Weight: 0.66
Price: $33.59

Water Pump Kit, OMC, Complete
Code: BPI12190
Weight: 1.46
Price: $49.95

And how difficult is it to replace water pump myself? Any special tools required or things I should watch out for? Any Help would be appreciated.

Get the kit with the housing. For the extra few $$ it's worth having as a spare even if you don't need it right now, but if you burnt up the impeller the housing may be cooked too. It's not that hard of a job, no special tools needed unless you're replacing gears. I did mine in about 3hours, not including some time fighting with a couple of broken bolts. Get a seal kit and replace any you can get to while you're at it.
