Hi all!
I need help to get a 1978 150hp v6 (not run for more than 4 years) no spark to all 6 plugs, but when crank the engine I saw the tach shows some rpm. Just don't know where to start from now: what wire to test the stator, I don't think two power packs could be bad the same time. Any of you guys out there went through this before please Help! Thanks so much!

Yes, it is unlikely that both packs have gone at the same time. If even one of them is good, you should get some fire.. Two components that you need to test, the trigger and the stator. You will need a special peak-reading voltmeter and a factory service manual to check both components. The trigger should output .3 volts. You need to see 160 volts out of both charge coils on the stator. The tach works off different coil windings, so that has no bearing.
