I have a 1978 70 hp evinrude and the power tilt stopped working this spring. I could hear it clicking but nothing else would happen. I took the motor a part just to see and rusted pieces fell out so I’m assuming it’s toast lol. My question I have is can I still get a motor that would mount onto the existing reservoir? I found one that said it was a replacement to the original but it didn’t look right to me but this is my first time messing with one so I don’t know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again. I’m leaning towards getting the repair kit now. Doesn’t look horrible to replace. I’ve never tried anything like that before though.
