1978 70hp Evinrude idle problem

i have a 1978 Evinrude 70 hp that stalls at idle speed. Once accelerating above idle all the way to wot it runs great. It ran fine for a couple trips and now this is my latest problem. Carbs have been cleaned and rebuilt. New fuel lines, fuel pump, plugs, coils, and the power pack was replaced a couple years ago. I’m about to give up on this thing as it’s one problem after another and I don’t know what to try next. Thanks for any help you may have

Post the results of a compression test.----Replaced the water pump recently ?-----Running on 50:1 mix with a quality oil ?

Using Evinrude oil at 50-1. Water pump was done a couple years ago and seems to pump fine at low speed. I will do a compression test. It ran fine one day and the next it would stall. Seems worse after running a bit
