1978 Bayliner Monterey paint & clean up restoration, need paint recommendation

I got frustrated with this boat several years ago just because it is more boat than I need and too much trouble to get in and out of the water. I have not had it in the water in 7 years. Badly in need of a paint job since I absolutely hate the color(s). I got a deal on it and it came that way! I'm considering using Sherwin Williams marine and industrial enamel to restore it to the original color. I've used this on metal docks with great success. So, just wondering if others would recommend this paint or strongly recommend to use something else in lieu of this.
Too, the interior of the cabin has old dusty carpet on the walls... any recommendations of what to do about this? I know the best thing to do is to rip out and replace but definitely a super pain if not impossible. When I get it all cleaned up and back in running condition it will definitely be for sale... hardly worth the effort for what I'll be able to sell it for....
