1978 Chrysler 35hp motor problems please help

Hey guys i have a 1978 Chrysler 35 hp motor .. I started having problems several weeks ago first it started out it would crank up with no problem . but then when you woud put the motor wide open it would just run about 1/4 throttle and then it would act like it would wanna go full speed then it would back down to the slow speed .. and it would continue doing this the boat would run fine as long as you kept it at a low speed.. then i took it out another time and the motor acted the same way just wouldnt run wide open would crank up and run but just wouldnt go.. it just keeps getting worse .. the motor then started having problems cranking up but i could get it to run and as long as you had it just sittin around idle you could put it in gear and it would run like that .. well it broke down on me the other day and then wouldnt crank up at all .. got it home charged the battery and sure enough it will not even crank up now .. Please help me if i dont get my motor running im gonna lose my mind i wanna go fishin lol thanks so much.
