Just got my first boat a 1978 terry ABF with a johnson 70 on it. When I purchased it, The man put the hose clamps on it set the lever on warm up position pushed key in and it fired right up then stalled repeated the process and it stayed running. Took it to the lake and it was hard to start and idle. After several tries and minutes got it going and in gear really smooth strong engine easily was going 45-50mph got to the cove with my dock and slowed down to idle drift to the edge of the dock and it stalled. Basically the engine is hard to start and idle but runs great this problem seems to be the opposite of most problems. Now it doesnt want to start and all three carbs are flooding. All plugs look perfect but a little wet. No leaks can be seen except the fuel in carbs and it is alot. what do I do? or can be done?
