1978 Johnson Meteor Need HP

I received a boat with this johnoson outboard on it, the only thing that i can tell about it is the sticker on the case says motor something 1978 the serial number I think is J2469812. Can anyone tell me if the year is right and if so what horsepower is the motor and where can I find a manual to repair it? There is also these numbers on the motor mount 4430-10 which is above 12189642?

Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />The Meteor was closer to 1968. I think they were 100Hp.

I think it might even be earlier than that. The S/N seems to indicate '64. This is a quick survey of serial numbers reported here:<br />J2483590 1964<br />J2476732 1964<br />J2469812 This is your one here.<br />J2469771 1964<br />J2453945 1964<br />J2448737 1964<br />j2440208 1964<br /><br />That year the Golden Meteor was a 90hp. Does it look like this?<br /> 1964 Golden Meteor, click here<br /><br />The model number for that year should be V4M-10 or V4LM-10. I it possible that is what 4430-10 is?
