1978 mercury thunderbolt 115 hp boggs out at full throttle

can any one help me my motor boggs out when I try to give it full throttle I rebuilt the fuel pump thinking that would fix the problem and replaced the plugs too but that didnt help can any one tell me what else I need to look at or do to make this motor work properly. when I put the boat in the water for the first time this spring it ran full throttle for about 5 minutes then its been bogging ever since

Do a compression test on the motor and check to make sure that all three throttle butterflies are opening. This would also be a ggod time to do a spark check.

Mine did this also last year.Turns out I was sucking rust in the carbs,and air through the fuel line from tank.I rebuilt all 3 carbs,fixed the fuel line, did the link and sync(found on this forum),and did a decarb with sea foam.I get full power from my old merc now.


side note:the fuel bulb has a filter in it also...I think.
