I've owned a few older runabouts but have an agreement to buy this boat subject to an inspection (4 hrs away from me, i have a small deposit, and will be viewing the boat in person next weekend)

- 1984 225 mercury v6. full rebuild 2001 -limited use since then.

-purchased by current owner 2 years ago. At time of purchase did not run properly, was taking to large local marine dealer and had stator and voltage reg/rec replaced and carbs tuned.

2nd season used 3 times, end of season owner had carbs completely rebuilt, and new steering cable/ steering gear box replaced.

- I have spoken with the marine tech that did the carb rebuild and steering replacement (reputable local shop) and he lake tested the boat before and after and then did a proper winterization on the boat. He said its a runner, turn key, 75mph boat. floor, transom etc solid no visible gel coat cracking etc.

Anything in particular that I should be looking for on a boat like this?

Not 100% certain, but nearly sure that there wasn’t a 225 merc like this at that time. May be wrong.
it sure is a nice outfit though. Lovely.
That said, it must be some motor and a serious pitch prop it’s swinging to see 75mph. Does it have a jack plate ? Lovely thing.
