Most if not all motors has a little fin right above the prop. I'm sure it has something to do with the way the boat steers. My Ranger 178 pulls a little to the right. Does this fin correct the boat from pulling in one direction?

Thanks

yes it is adjustable, loose bolt, if boat pull right move back side of tab to right. will take a little experimenting. i have mine to where there is no pull at all.

I just ran accross this item when reading the manual for my 115hp V4 Johnson last night. It mentions that you should move the fin in very small increments at a time as not to have the boat get out of control on you when at speed on the water. Don't know how solid the info is but thought I'd mention it as I read it last night.
Good luck,

Just for future reference that is called your trim tab. When removing it to service the lower unit, draw a line across it to use as a reference when re installing it.
