Re: 1979 150 V6 Johnson
Make sure the arrow on the bulb is going in the direction of the fuel flow. It is not uncommon for the ball valves in the bulb to fail and cause flow problems. If you have another fuel line, try it. I eliminated the clip-on hose connections at the lower cowl. Ran the supply hose end through the (new) cowl opening, direct to the fuel pump. When you do that and expose the hose end, it should flow a lot of fuel when you prime the bulb. Knowing the hose will flow fuel, clamp it direct to the pump. Make sure it does not kink and cause restrictions. When you prime the bulb, you should hear fuel entering the carb bowls. When they fill up, the hose bulb will get hard. Make sure the electric solenoid is activating the choke plates on the bottom two carbs. If they are not closing when you push in on the key, it will be a bear to get started. If, after all this, you have no fuel to the plugs, you will probably need to get into the carbs and have a look.
