When replacing the drive belt on the L6 drive, you remove the access block by the front motor mount, but do you have to worry about the motor dropping at all? Would you have to pull the drive and check the alignment after just changing the belt?

Also, is it ok to use a automotive belt, or do the Mercruiser/marine belts make a difference?

Thanks

Ok, thats what I figured. Thanks for the help. I was going to take some advice I've read on here to put a second belt in there for a back-up, in case of a failure while on the water......
