Hey there I know I posted about this somewhere, but I can't seem to find my older post and I'm looking for some help.

Last summer I was having starting problems with my engine and we decided to hook up jumper cables to battery and bypass the power cables right to the starter. Our thought was this would tell us if the starter needed work/replacement or not. We concluded that a new starter is needed. Problem is that we decided to check one last time to confirm it was the starter and when we jumped it from the battery to the starter, we lost any type of power. Just seems dead. Hooked the battery up properly (yes it has a full charge) and turn the key over and there is nothing, not even a click.

I recently went down to give it another try on land, and checked the grounds on the engine, everything looked good to me. But nothing.

Any suggestions? We thought maybe it was a blown fuse, but I remember someone mentioning there was not fuse on this engine. What should I be looking for to help troubleshoot?

Thanks!

I take things apart and inspect / confirm it is bad before laying out the coins for a new part.---So take the starter apart.

Starter was taken apart last summer before we lost every source of power. It was cleaned and still no improvement in terms of power to turn the flywheel fast enough, just kind of "chugged" around.

But I'm not doing anything until I can solve this power loss problem.
