This may sound strange but I am wondering if anyone might have a picture of the Dash Panel from a 1979 Century 3000? I picked this boat up around Halloween and am just starting the work on it to get it ready for Spring. My problem is that the previous owner tore apart some of the dash. I want to put it back the way it was, but need to know where everything goes. Right now the ignition switch and something else is out of it. I am fairly sure where the ignition goes, but I don't have a clue what else is supposed to be in there. It looks like he had a Cigarette lighter socket, but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I will have to go from memory but I had that boat when nearly new. Nice rig. Stay tuned - I may have a picture.

This is the best I can do. You can do continuous zoom in on the photo to get a little better idea of the layout but the problem is that these boats had a smoked plexiglass cover over the instruments to prevent fading of the instrument faces. You will note that the ignition was in the very lower left corner of the dash. Instruments were speedometer and tach, oil pressure, fuel, voltmeter and temperature. A cigarette lighter was included but the original lighter (the actual element) had a built-in map light. The instruments had red back lighting to reduce glare for night navigation. This particular boat had a 351 Ford feeding an OMC Stringer Drive. The red thing in the picture is the red paper the picture was pasted on. My daughter created a scrap book for me so the picture in the post is a picture of that picture.

Do you remember if the cigarette lighter was in the upper left hand corner? The ignition is where I was thinking, now it is the thing in the upper left corner that is missing. Thats what I am assuming is the cigarette lighter thingy. Thanks for the response. Mine is also missing the Plexiglass covering. I didn't even realize it had that. But thinking back at it I remember seeing the standoffs for it. Right now the boat is in storage. I am going over this weekend to start the work on it.

Mine also has the 351 motor and OMC 800 drive. I picked it up cheap and plan on restoring another classic. I finished rebuilding my previous boat and needed another project.
