1979 Chrysler Sea King 15 hp

Impeller is misting out water and not peeing. I bought a new impeller, but the bottom half of the motor will not come undone. Any tips?

Sometimes the drive shaft, the splines get twisted and it's a
real pain to remove. Look on U-tube for video's.
Does it drop at all? you remove the connector at the lower shift rod?
