Hello I am sort of new to the forum and I am stuck on a problem with my outboard. It is a 1979 115 EVINRUDE model #115999R with a 20'' shaft. I have found several units online that the sellers claim will fit my motor, but I am getting different answers from some and I would really hate to spend out for something that will not work. Seems to me like this is going to be a crap shoot so if anyone here has any insight or advice on how to get the right unit to bolt up and work I would love to hear it. I have counted the splines at the prop and it has 13. I am not a mechanic but I feel like I may be able to drop the unit if I have to.
