So I am thinking about buying a 1979 Evinrude 115hp for 1200.00 installed. The engine is used with maybe 300hrs on it give or take it was compression tested at 135 on all four cylinders with a tune up and new water pump. I was wondering if this year Evinrude was a good engine anything I should look for??. I has a 1983 90hp Evinrude on now but it took on water and the powerhead is junk.. Is there any differences between the late 70s and early eighties Evinrudes?
