I have a 1979 55hp evinrude outboard that looses power when I accelerate the engine. It idles perfectly, but has little or no power from idle to full throttle. I noticed water bubbling out from the gasket on the carbuter side of the crankcase housing. Could this be my problem?? How difficult is it to replace??
Also, I have a 1986 55hp evinrude Commerical outboard that doersn't have a power pack, can I use the power pack from my 1979 55hp and use it on the 55hp commerical? I notice that the coils are a little different, can I change these also. Any help would be appreciated!
P.S.: I have the maintenance manual for my 1979 55hp Evinrude on hand.
