1979 merc 40 horse

Bought a semi basket case for my john boat, does anyone have fuel line hose diagram from fuel pump? Looks like water runs thru part to tale tale , but not sure where fuel lines go, the way I thought can get fuel to motor, and check valves can only go one way , so they cant be rev, one one way the other the other way, thanks tim:facepalm:

i bought a seloc style manual from tradebit.com for like $7.99 it is a digital version, so you either have to bone up on it in house or take lap top with you.....or print the page you need and go fwd.
it solved most of my issues....but i only needed a lil help.
fuel line should come into housing with a quick connector....then go into fuel pump, then go to carb. route it so that it does not interfere with linkages.
carb may have fuel pump on the side not sure of that model.
if you post serial # i could give you a link for sure to right drawings, when i am in pinch and dont have manual and just need to see where things go i most often use this site

that was a guess for the right model so i suggest you instead go to

and input the correct info, use there diagrams and then if at all possible buy the parts here on iboats, as iboats set up these incredibly helpful forums.
