1980-81 140 hp....is it a rare model ?

Just bought an old Phantom Boat with a 140 horse Merc ser. # 5741923 and am having trouble finding any good info on wiring diagrams or service manuals ...anyone know if this motor was not used much or just what the problem is any info would be good. thanks in advance, Mic

That motor is the old inline six Merc 1500, renamed to Merc 140. I did not think they stopped making them in 1980, or earlier.
