1979 or 1980 chrysler 100 HP. I am looking for the proper fuel oil ratio for this engine. Does it hurt to error on the oily side? will any damage occur if it is run at 24 to one instead of 50 to one? I am looking for a manual for this engine, ebay has some general manuals for the correct HP and year. Are these books OK or should I look for an engine specific owners manual?

DA, Mix for your motor is 50:1.To much oil wont hurt the motor but will foul plugs quicker and may cause some carbon build up but stick with the 50:1 and you will be fine.
A motor specific manual is always best but I have four aftermarket manuals I use for reference.
The seloc manual seems pretty good but the Ebos
which covers many brands in one book is a little skimpy on some procedure info but pretty good on tune up and design specs.
You will probably pay less for a generic. My Seloc has many tips on what to look out for.

What Steelspike said...But I have the Clymer and Seloc manuals, and iether are quite adequate.unless you want to overhaul, whereas, I would try to locate the engine-specific shop manual . Heres is a link to the Chrysler manaul
